Shilee and my nephew Justin were in a first-grade opera. Shilee's class did 'Starfish Ball' and Justin's class did 'THe Stolen Golden Gargoyles'. This is one of the good things about the kids going to a title-one school, they get lots of funding. This project was funded by the Utah Festival Opera Company. The kids got to do all the work. They thought up the opera, wrote the words and painted the scenery. It turned out really cute. I give props to those teachers. It must have been a lot of work to focas first graders on a project like this.
This week wasn't so much fun. Shilee and Enoch were sick. A two year old throwing up. Need I say more.

How cute!! I agree, it takes a lot of patience and hard work to do a play for kids. So cute though!!
That's so great! We are coming up in early June, maybe you guys can come down to Sandie and visit us when we're there. It's the weekend ofthe 4th/5th. Hope to see you .
Congrats to the kids on their debut! The cool thing about that Utah Opera Festival is that they'll work with any school, not just title-one schools! We've had them at our school the last three years. 1st, 2nd, and 5th and 6th graders have all participated! IT'S A FABULOUS PROGRAM!!!
And the kids totally eat it up! They are so excited to do it that they sit still and quiet and don't even realize that they whole time they're learning!
