This was another thing we almost had to force her to do. She screamed when we tried to put her on the horse. When everyone else was done she finally got on and didn't want to get off.

The first day of 1st grade!

The two words that best describe Millie are stubborn and sensitive. If she gets an idea about not doing something stuck in her head you almost have to force her into it and once she finds out it's not so bad then she usually loves it. Her emotions are always hovering just below the surface, whether good or bad. She hates change and doesnt' deal with it well at all. Take this last month for example. School was starting so she had to switch from a day gymnastics class to an evening one. I had to threaten to take away her allowance to even get her there and then she cried for 45 min and refused to do anything. The beginning of the next class was similiar but finally she started doing the excersises and remembered how much she loved it and we've signed up for another year. When she concentrates she's pretty good. About the same time she got new primary teachers and the next week refused to go to class. Luckily it only lasted one week. Finally the other day she refused to do the activity in P.E. and the teacher got upset with her. The next day she would not even get out of bed. John dragged her out and held her for 10 min. while she screamed at the top of her lungs. Needless to say she did not go to school. This morning she was so nervous she was gettitng a tummy ache but she went and apparently had a great day. I think the poor thing just works things up in her mind until she can't handle it and then just breaks down. Once she sees things aren't that bad then it's o.k. I just hope she's not getting ulcers!

She's a wonderful helper and does her work without complaining. All her teachers have loved her. She is a joy most of the time.
